Confidence



Our happiness isn't determined by what's happening to us, but more about what's happening within us.

If we feel good within ourselves; the world and the people around us become much more positive. Likewise, when we’re not feeling so good within ourselves, the world and people around us can trigger a negative response from us and our patience, resilience and compassion can wear a bit thin.

Problem is when we feel like this, we don’t always have the self awareness to acknowledge our part in this and often truly believe others are to blame.

Coaching is one of the quickest and most powerful ways of learning who you are and what makes you ‘you’. It can highlight what thoughts and beliefs you’ve been carrying around with you and give you the opportunity to see if these thoughts are helping or hindering you.

Coaching can also help you define and take ownership of your personal skills and qualities; allowing you to feel confident and fulfilled, which in turn allows you ‘show up’ with more ease and skill in your life.

Your internal happiness is not a selfish need, it’s actually a gift to yourself and all those around you, with the effects rippling out to friends, family or colleagues.

Self awareness and Self Confidence is the key to us creating the boundaries which form our life. If you don’t know your personal boundaries; how can you identify when something is right or wrong for you.

When we’re confident in who we are, we’re able to honour these boundaries with ease but also know when we can stretch them. Moreover, we can identify when someone is projecting their own fears and inadequacies onto us, rather than taking it personally and allowing it to shape our self esteem and confidence.

Confident people know themselves and know their personal boundaries so they rarely find themselves in a situation they can’t handle. They may still feel a little nervous about the unknown, but they know they can rely on themselves to handle whatever it is they may face in their life.

 

External success is not necessarily an indicator of confidence. I’ve worked with a number of high profile, high calibre and successful individuals, who suffer with thoughts and feelings of not being 'good enough' and that someone will come along, tap them on the shoulder and tell them that they’ve been ‘found out’.
